Lead Like Jesus – Ken Blanchard

by robinrussell52

Over the last year and half I am thankful for the wisdom the Holy Spirit has given to me. He has continually helped me to know which questions to ask about leadership, marketing, business and family. Then he would lead me to pray for mentors who would be able to guide me. Mentors who would see me as a whole person and guide me with this in mind.

My three biggest business mentors right now are Sara Broers from Social Connections, LLC, Julie Wright from 10x Profit Coach and Ken Blanchard author of the One Minute Manager and speaks on Lead Like Jesus. These three components are powerful. They are giving us real tools to implement in our business, but they are also speaking life into our dreams and vision.

This year my goal is to gain a full understanding of marketing and to understand how small, rural business can thrive and in turn allow the community they live in to thrive. Which trickles down to families thriving and kids thriving. It’s a beautiful picture I want to be a part of.

As I began looking for books to read I was steered towards Dan Kennedy, who has a wealth of information. I am excited to learn from him as a mentor. I was also excited to find Ken Blanchard. I found Ken Blanchard’s book the One Minute Manager at a thrift store or a rummage sale. A couple of weeks ago I finally sat down to read his book. I didn’t know if I would like it or if it would be boring. It was not boring, in fact I finished it in two days. If I had been single without a family to take care of I would have finished it in a couple of hours. It was phenomenal.

When I jumped on youtube to see if Ken had any videos available I was thrilled. Not only did he have videos available, but the first one to pop up was called “Lead Like Jesus”. His talk is hilarious and inspiring, I would love to sit down with him over a meal. I am sure my stomach would hurt from laughing so much and my heart would be filled with the love and encouragement that would leave his mouth at the same time. To me those make a quality leader! I have included the video below. I would encourage you to take the time to watch it, trust me, you’ll be inspired.
