Every winter Mark and I struggle to keep our skin healthy against Minnesota’s dry climate. We love playing outside in the snow with our kids and our husky Skye. We don’t love the itchy dry skin we experience afterwards.
We have used department store lip balm and lotions in the past. While not being able to pronounce the ingredients bothered me a little bit, I still continued to use them. It is what I had been doing for most of my life. A few years ago I began learning the old art of making butter, bone broth and other skills my grandma relied on to survive everyday life. I wanted to know and understand the process and I was curious to know if there was a taste difference I was missing in processed, grocery store food.
What I wasn’t expecting to understand is the correlation between what I eat and what I put on my body should be similar. What I put on my body is absorbed into my body. I wasn’t counting on beginning to question the world around me I had begun to take for granted. I wasn’t expecting to question doctors and pharmaceutical companies. I didn’t know I would begin to use natural and organic literally. Switching not because I wanted to, but because our bodies literally function best with these types of food and products. I am convinced even more now than ever to have a relationship with my farmer who puts food on our table and to know the chemist who creates the products that go on my body. They are relationships that our health relies on.
One of the products I have been trying to get our family to switch out is our lotions and lip balms. Mark used to use Carmex and the last year or two I was able to talk him into using Neosporan lip balm, which I thought was a better choice. With his body issues we needed to find something that would not only aid in his healing, but would help boost his body to continue to fight.
Thank goodness we found Daisy Blue Naturals, we have yet to be disappointed in a product we have tried from them. Jena Thompson, the owner and founder of the company is committed to keeping her products as pure and natural as possible.
The lotion is creamy and hydrating, but does not leave my hands feeling greasy. It is the perfect lotion to put on my legs after freshly shaving them. I have noticed after using this lotion my let hairs grow back slower, which in girl terms means I don’t have to shave as often. Um, yes, sign me up!
The lip balm leaves my lips hydrated and I noticed I find myself not applying it nearly as often as when I used other brands. It’s amazing. Our family will continue to use Daisy Blue Natural products to continue to heal our bodies. When our bodies are healed we will continue to use them to aid in continuing to strengthen our bodies.
Thank you Jena for creating natural products our family relies on to comfort and soothe our bodies!
