Fried Oatmeal

by robinrussell52

Fried Oatmeal and Eggs

One of the big things that saves my family money is being able to utilize leftovers. Most of the time the leftovers are all ready cooked, which cuts the prep time and cook time for the next meal. Cutting prep time and cook time in the kitchen means I have more time to play with my kiddos, read a book, or write a new blog post. Fried Oatmeal is my go to recipe for leftover oatmeal. It’s easy and delicious!

Fried Oatmeal in the Pan

Depending on how much oatmeal is leftover from breakfast determines what size pan baking pan I use. I use anywhere from a 9×13, 8×8, 9×9 basically whatever is clean and whatever the oatmeal will fit the best in.

Take your pan and give it a good greasing with butter, spray, or whatever cooking oil you use in your house. Once your pan is greased, pour the leftover oatmeal into the cooking pan, spread it out evenly into your pan, then cover and place in the refrigerator overnight. I like my pans so that the oat meal is about 1/2 to 1 inch thick.

In the morning heat your favorite skillet, turn the burner to medium heat, and add your favorite frying oil. While your pan is heating take your oatmeal out of the fridge and slice it into frying pieces.

Once your pan is heated, carefully take out your first piece of oatmeal and gently place it in the skillet. Give it one to two minutes and then check to see if it’s brown, once brown, flip and give the other side one to two minutes as well.

Titus Maple Syrup Fried Oatmeal

Place warm fried oatmeal on a place and drizzle with warm maple syrup. Delicious! We love having fried eggs along with our fried oatmeal. This is a warm, easy, filling breakfast!

What ways do you use your leftover oatmeal? I’d love more suggestions!
