We love popcorn at our house! Maddie thinks it’s awesome to watch it pop and even better to eat. We have tried coconut oil and sea salt which we really like. Here are some more recipes for popcorn that I found on the welltellme website. Thought I would pass these along. I am definately going to try them! Mark LOVES cracker jacks and if I can make him a healthier version I’m all for it! Enjoy!
Spirulina Popcorn 10 ounces of pre- popped popcorn 3-4 tablespoons nutritional yeast 2 teaspoons spike seasoning, powder 1 teaspoon garlic granules 1-2 tablespoon spirulina powder Directions1Sprinkle all ingredients over popcorn in large bowl or large bag, then toss or shake until popcorn is nicely coated. 2For some extra “kick”, sprinkle a bit of chili powder onto the popcorn!
Pizza Popcorn 3 quarts freshly popped corn 1/4-1/2 cup butter, melted 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano 1/2 teaspoon dried basil 1/8 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese Directions1While popcorn is popping melt butter and add next 5 ingredients. 2Toss well and top with Parmesan cheese.
Honey Butter Popcorn (Cracker Jacks) 2 T Butter1/4 cup honey In samll saucepan melt butter over very low heat; thoroughly blend in honey with wire wisk. Stir evenly into 6 cups popped pocorn and spead evenly in a single layer on a cookie sheet or shallow pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 5-10 minutes. You may also enjoy eating it unbaked.
Variations:
Add as desired to Honey Butter Popcorn:
1/2-1 cup peanuts or chopped almonds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2-1 cup raisins
1 T whole wheat germ
3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice or 1/4 tsp cinnamon
Peanut Butter Popcorn Blend 1/4 cup peanut butter into honey-butter (from recipie above). Pour over 6 cups popcorn and mix well. If desired add 1 cup peanuts.
Ohh, neat. I have to try some of those. I'd like us to consume more popcorn around here, but it just needs variety!
We love popcorn too. Kettle corn is my favorite!
