Toddler Tuesday at the Mall of America

by robinrussell52

The Mall of America was one of our “must go to” places when our friend, Jaime, was visiting us from Spain. If you have never seen it, it is quite amazing. There are so many shops for the whole family. Disney, Build-A-Bear, Lego Land and Nickelodeon Universe (there are special wristband prices on Toddler Tuesday) are all great reasons to spend a day at MOA.

We decided to go on Tuesday knowing Nickelodeon Universe had Toddler Tuesday every week. The Mall of America has various toddler events happening on those days from 10 am-noon. The adventure park has special ride prices for toddlers throughout the day. Wristbands for a five-hour ride pass are $12.95, a great rate and timeframe for our kids. Our children range in age from 2-11. The rides they wanted to go on all fit under the toddler, junior and family rides. Some are not available with this discount, so check to see which rides and wristbands fit best for your family.

We spent a good portion of our morning riding the bumper cars, Ferris wheel, merry-go-round and the log ride. Our group’s favorite was the bumper cars and the log ride. The Ferris wheel was one of my personal favorites as it was fun to see the adventure park from such a high height.

We took a break from rides at one o’clock to enjoy the lunch discounts at certain restaurants throughout the mall. Many of the restaurants participate in discounts where kids eat free. The discounts vary depending on the restaurant, so you will want to make sure you check the specifics for each one. We decided to eat at the Cadillac Ranch. The food was delicious, the service fabulous and we all enjoyed our meals.

I enjoyed chicken fettuccini, garlic bread, and a salad; it was the perfect lunch portion. All three of our big kids had mini cheeseburger sliders and fries. Timmy, the two-year-old, had the child’s flatbread pizza. Make sure you mention the discount in order to receive the free children’s meals. For our large group, we called ahead to reserve a table so they could prepare accordingly.

We ate our lunch, then headed back to Nickelodeon Universe to enjoy the last few hours of the kids’ wristbands. A few more rides on the bumper cars and log ride, and we were off to play at Lego Land.

Building blocks for toddlers on up are provided at various stations outside of the Lego store. Inside the store, Legos of every color and creation can be purchased.

If you are looking for a fun, indoor play adventure, I would recommend Toddler Tuesday at the Mall of America.

Good to know about Toddler Tuesday! Maybe the kids and I will have to day trip up there sometime this summer!

Yes, I highly recommend it. It’s a fun way to beat winter blues and to get out of the midwest heat for a while.
