Scripture tells us that Satan prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he will devour. We are given wisdom to put on our full armor of God so that we can withstand the attacks of the evil one. All day long we hear the world, see the world and feel the overwhelming hurts, fears and insecurity of a hurting world. Thankfully scripture serves as our guide for wisdom and guidance.
The Apostle Paul continues to be a source of encouragement to me. When he was in literal prison he would pray and sing praises to God. I have taken this to heart and have begun to lead our family in listening to songs that affirm the truth of who we know God is and the truth about how he sees us. We are his beloved, cherished children.
When we are struggling to wade through the world’s lies to find God’s truth we crank up Greater by Mercy Me. We soak in the truth of how God see’s us.

A song we were recently introduced to us is Come Away by Jesus Culture. Life with Christ is indeed “A wild ride, it’s gonna be great, it’s gonna be for you”. Life with Jesus is adventure, peace in the storm and I am reminded to run away with Christ.

One of my very favorite songs is Good, Good Father by House Fires. When life hurts, when I’m walking in the emotional and mental dark, he is my light. Where the Father is there is never darkness, I listen for his voice and walk where he leads.

for King & Country is a new band we have recently begun to get to know. Their song Priceless is powerful and is spurring us to see ourselves as God sees us. Priceless, beloved child, bought and paid for with Jesus’ blood. You my friend are Priceless!

When you are struggling to believe God’s truth about yourself. When the lies of the world are louder than God’s love for you, stop and fight fire with fire. Crank up the truth God is speaking through so many of his beloved children. If you are wondering if you are even worthy to do so. I tell you with authority none of us are worthy, we are only worthy through Christ Jesus. When we allow him into our lives, he does beautiful overhaul in our lives.
Check out Unspoken’s message of freedom “There’s a lot more praise and thanksgiving on this record,” Jon Lowry, the band’s bass player, agrees. “When we wrote the last record we were all literally living below the poverty line. We’d been doing that for years. We were leaving our families every weekend to play music and working odd jobs when we were home to try to make ends meet. Life was such an immediate struggle. But with the success of our last record, for the first time we were able to just focus on the music without having to worry about the electricity being turned off. That change in our lives as a band is an answer to prayers we’ve been praying for the last decade. We’re all in awe of what God has done, and that gratitude is present all over the record.”
We pray you find encouragement in the songs we listen to and are inspired to keep pressing on. May the Lord bless you and keep you, may he look upon you with favor and give you his peace.
