Impulse Control

by robinrussell52

Impulse control happens to be something we are working on in our family right now. Apryl Gordon brings in wonderful insight and suggestions for helping our kids learn self control. It is a life skill my kids need to practice and master to become pleasant individuals others want to live, work, and play with.

Impulse Control

“First, to control impulses, one needs to understand them.  Discuss the difference between feeling and behavior. It is OK to feel anger with a sibling, but not OK to hit.  It is OK to feel attraction to that person sitting next to you in class, but not OK to send a sexy text. Teach your child to discuss feelings, keep a journal, and what behavior responses are appropriate”. To read more about helping kids to control their impulses read here.
