Pizza night is usually reserved for Friday nights at our house, but when we heard Owlegories had come out with their new Vol. 5, The Lion The Lamb The Bread, I knew we needed to change our schedule up a little bit. We baked our traditional cheese pizza, then cut and served the hot, gooey slices. Maddie was even brave enough to try pepperoni stuff crust pizza. Adventures come in all shapes and sizes at our house. The special part of pizza night, other than eating it together, is the kids get to break the rules and eat their supper in the living room.
We enjoy Owlegories on many levels as a family. First, we love the family owned and operated company. Thomas and Julie Boto desired to create a fun and engaging way for their kids to develop a deeper relationship with God. They also strive to include their kids in their business as we do in ours. In each volume they help with voice over for the owlets, advertising and other parts of the business. This is as true with vol. 5 as it has been with the other movies in the series. I particularly loved the end of The Lion as the Boto’s sweet boys shared life giving truth. The thing I loved the most was the sparkle and understanding the boys had as they taught other kids God’s word through the video. There is nothing sweeter to my mama heart than to hear and see God’s word implanted in kid’s hearts.
Second, Mark and I were impressed that we were as entertained by the movie as our kids were. We continue to find ourselves laughing out loud as Joey, Nora, Violet, Gus, Twitch and our other favorite owl characters go on adventure after adventure.
In each of the three episodes in the new vol. 5 the owls must go on adventures to develop a deeper relationship with God. In The Lion they go to the plains of Africa to reunite a baby lion with its mother. On their journey they learn three valuable lessons from the lion. In The Lamb the owlets go on an adventure to the local toy store where they learn about giving and helping others. In The Bread the owlets go to a bakery and learn about helping out others in need as well as how God is like bread. Did you know God is like bread, sure enough and the owlets learn this too.
