Our children’s ally…

adult ally

Mark and I have been learning so much through Ultimate Journey, a class we have had the amazing opportunity to take at our church. It is not only giving us new tools to combat life’s arrows, but it is giving us life giving words for our kid’s. Changing lies for truth at such a young age brings tears to my eyes. As they grow into adults it is my prayer they will be able to bring this truth to their own lives, God giving truth of his love for them and their amazing potential when he is completely and fully apart of their everyday lives. Processing life’s circumstances and situations through his truth which I pray will be rooted and grounded in their hearts and minds!

Now that Timmy is apart of our family we will need a new picture, but I wanted to let you see something I put together that we intend to hang up in our house. This serves as a reminder to Mark and I as we shepherd our young children’s hearts to look towards Christ. How we shepherd and train our kid’s, what we speak to them becomes what they hear as adults. The questions that I must ask myself is what are the messages I want them to hear as adults and who do I want them to go to as adults.

I’m still going to blow it with my kid’s, I’m far from perfect, but I walk and talk with a God who is perfect, who loves my kid’s far more than I do, and he has their hearts, souls, and minds close to his heart. As I parent my kiddo’s I remember what scripture says, He who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete me until the day of Christ Jesus.  Until I see Jesus face to face I am so very thankful for his wisdom and guidance as a parent!

My rebel heart loves Jesus. It has been a journey learning about his love for me, but he continues to fight for me and has won my heart. I am learning to love and respect my husband Mark. After four years of being a mommy I fell in love with the role God had given me and I am now a passionate homeschool, stay at home mom. I love outdoor adventures with my family and our husky Skye. I love creating delicious physically and emotionally satisfying meals. I love walking life’s hard road with those around me. I want to be a friend to the friendless and be a beacon of light and hope to the weary.
