The twins turned six years old this year. A milestone in many ways. I wanted to help them branch out into the individuals they are becoming. Titus, the youngest twin by thirteen minutes, choose a hockey party. However, due to a concussion he got while ice skating early in the week, his party was changed to a movie/junk food/best buddy party.
In typical Naomi fashion she told me her request in detail. She wanted an art, spa, tea party. I had NO idea how this was going to be accomplished. You may not know this about me, but I was not born with glitter and sparkle in my vanes. It is something I have had to learn while having daughters. Thank goodness for Kelly Gau and my mom! They came to my rescue!
In passing conversation Kelly asked me what Naomi was doing for her birthday party. I told her Naomi’s vision and she immediately said, “you would call that a sparting party.” We set a date, talked details, and Naomi’s sparting party began to come to life!
Kelly took care of the cup cakes (which were amazing!), art, and nail painting part. My mom, bless her soul, took care of the tea party. She had put together party bags for each guest, arranged a beverage to go into the teapots, and brought her fine china (literally). It was amazingly awesome. The faces of the little girls who attended the party were priceless as they entered the front room from the back room. It was truly a little girl’s dream party! I will let the pictures speak for themselves!
Each little girl left with a headband and a work of art they created themselves. It was truly a magical birthday party and Naomi was beyond blessed. Thank you Kelly and mom for putting an amazing birthday party together. Naomi’s heart was filled to overflowing!
[…] Naomi lives, eats and breaths art. The difference in her joy is abundantly clear on the days she has purposefully put art into her day. Titus on the other hand creates art through taking things apart. He wants man projects. Wood, hammer, nails, dirt and manliness. Our recent art project accomplished both goals! High five and rock on, Kelly Gau! […]
