There’s a toy store in Albert Lea?

Seriously, there is! Whimzy Toy & Party is located at 122 S. Broadway Avenue, in the heart of our beautiful downtown. The store windows are my favorite windows to check out as we are shopping downtown or driving by in our suburban. They always have eye-catching toys that draw even adults through its doors. They have had a giant K’nex Ferris Wheel, they currently have a giant unicorn water toy, and I cannot wait to see what they will come up with for Wind Down Wednesday.

Come on in and play

One of our family’s favorite things about Whimzy is the welcoming, friendly staff that greet us as soon as we open the door. They also make sure to let parents know it’s ok for our kids to play with the toys they have available for the kids to experience. Whether it is kinetic sand, a hot dog or ice cream truck, dress up clothes or even a new game they can try out.  Make sure to stay tuned to their Facebook page to watch for their next ‘We Need Toy Testers Event.’

Toddler Tuesday

Toddler Tuesday is held the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of every month. I want to thank Tami Staker, the owner of Whimzy for offering Toddler Tuesday. I know as a mom with small kiddos I appreciate opportunities that give me the chance to get out and talk to other adults. Yet, will also let my toddler wear off enough energy to make it through lunch and still be able to take a nap to allow me to rest and restore some of my sanity.

What’s a Make & Take?

Only one of the most awesome events at the store. Their Facebook event description says, “Every 3rd Thursday of the month, we’ll be making something awesome that you can take home with you! As we get closer to each event, we’ll provide more detail on our website about exactly what we’ll be doing. We look forward to seeing you!” So, make sure you like their page so you can be sure to make it to the next one.

Sunday Funday – (Open from 12 pm – 4 pm)

That’s right; there is actually a fun store in Albert Lea that is open on Sundays. One more day to experience fun away from the cold and the heat. The store is open from 12 pm – 4 pm.
