Cracker Barrel is a must stop for our family every time we head up to the Minneapolis/St.Paul International airport. My mother-in-law flies into the cities every time she flies into visit us from Tennessee. It is conveniently off of the Interstate 35 exit in Lakeville, MN.
One of my favorite parts of Cracker Barrel is the long line of rocking chairs outside on their porch. Someday I’m going to bring a couple of those rockers home with me!
As we walk into the store we were created by sites and sounds of the holiday seasons. Thanksgiving as well as Christmas was well represented. We even chuckled at some of the witty signs about the store.
When we arrived at the hostess podium we were greeted with warm welcoming smiles and immediately seated at our table. We were thrilled when we realized we would get to sit right in front of the fireplace! We immediately went to work deciding what we would order.
We placed our order with our waitress and while we waited Mark and Maddie enjoyed their traditional Cracker Barrel checker game! Maddie loved the extra time with her daddy and I enjoyed talking with my mother-in-law.
Maddie enjoyed pancakes with real Cracker Barrel Maple Syrup and her favorite beverage, lemonade!
I enjoyed their Tuesday special! Two Broiled Lemon Pepper Trout with choice of two veggies. I chose fried okra, mashed potatoes, and biscuits! Delicious!
Mark decided upon Homemade Chicken and Dumplings with fried apples!
The end of our meal is as important to our kids as the actual meal and playing checkers! We always purchase delicious peppermint sticks when we pay for our meal at the register!
Between the candy and the toys are kids could spend hours looking around their general store type store.
Maddie even found a friend she was hoping she would be able to take home with her!
Cracker Barrel will remain a family favorite restaurant for our family. The crackling fire, delicious food, friendly customer service, and their fun store atmosphere keep us coming back! Does your family have a family favorite restaurant?
I’ve never eaten here. We don’t dine out often. But next time we meet our daughter and son-in-law for lunch half-way between their home and ours, I’ll suggest Cracker Barrel. Looks like a great place both in atmosphere and food. Is it part of a chain? That’s how little I know about Cracker Barrel. Typically we don’t dine at chain restaurants.
Yes, it is part of a chain. We typically do not eat out often either, but it is fun for special ocassions. The crackling fire, fun gift shop, and tastey food has us going back.
Those are all good reasons to dine at Cracker Barrel. Your kids will always remember these special meals out here. Memories…
They are indeed sweet memories.
That’s the Cracker Barrel we go to also!
